About the Event
YNA is holding a special online panel during Mental Health Week (10-17 October 2021) focusing on how different environments can affect our mental health - from the environment we live in at home, to the environment surrounding us in the urban jungle of modern society, all the way to digital landscapes!Â
Our highly qualified speakers have interacted with mental health, design  or public policy in a range of fields.Â
Professor Ian Hickie's background in clinical psychiatry and research on mood disorders, depression and bipolar disorder and developing online  technologies for mental health will be invaluable, while Dr Alanya Drummond will offer a strong perspective based on her work in interior architecture, inclusive spaces, designing for mental health, and student wellbeing.  Associate Professor Steve Most has investigated  how attention and emotion shape our awareness of the world and factors impacting cognition and emotion regulation as a researcher in cognitive psychology, and  Dr Patrick Harris will bring his expertise in city planning and cross-disciplinary collaborations to progress healthy public policy. Â
Our panel will have a fruitful and insightful discussion on what shapes our mental health, and ways to maximise our emotional wellbeing in relation to our surroundings!
Follow our event page to stay up-to-date with information about our panel. A slido link will be made available closer to the event date for you to ask any burning questions!
