By joining the outreach team you will be directly involved in coordinating YNA’s relationships with universities and organisations across Australia. HOW CAN YOU HELP US? By joining the events team you will be directly involved in planning and running a range of events, both social and educational, to bring YNA’s message to the wider community. HOW CAN YOU HELP US? You will be a great fit for the events team if you have any of the following qualities: Experience with event organisation and management is preferred, especially those catering for the undergraduate audience, but not required Passion about science and effective science communication Willingness to help manage and host social and educational events to spread YNA’s message Strong team player who engages in a collaborative environment to maintain a high standard of work WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? Assisting with the brainstorming and creation of events, as well as reviewing and improving concluded events Ensuring that each event runs smoothly, including both online and in-person events. Responsibilities often include attending and running events, organising runsheets, finding and confirming speakers and sponsors, devising budgets, communicating publicity requests with the marketing team, organising IT infrastructure (such as internet streams), confirming venue bookings and catering, creating and collating feedback surveys, and other logistics Opportunities available to lead your own projects and bring your ideas to life through YNA’s platform Expected time commitment is 2-3 hours per week, including a compulsory one hour weekly team meeting.

By joining the marketing team you will be directly involved in broadcasting our message to a broad audience across multiple forms of media. HOW CAN YOU HELP US? You will be a great fit for the marketing team if you have any of the following qualities: Passion for visual communication on social media Experience working with graphic design software and programs such as Canva or Adobe Illustrator, or willingness to learn Interest in science and communicating scientific ideas Willing to present work both internally to the rest of the team as well as for a broader audience Strong team player who engages in a collaborative environment to maintain a high standard of work WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? Working within a team to manage social media platforms, designing graphics and creating content for social media campaigns and event promotions, writing captions and ensuring timelines for campaigns are followed Collects analytics for YNA’s events and campaigns, and evaluates these analytics to improve marketing Conducts in-depth research to identify new market opportunities and consumer preferences to support campaign creations Works with the marketing team to devise innovative strategies to engage our target audience, and implement these strategies to market YNA’s products Opportunities available to lead your own projects and bring your ideas to life through YNA’s platform Expected time commitment is 2-3 hours per week, including a compulsory one hour weekly team meeting.
